Ruth started working for us permanently in 2025 but has locumed for us on numerous occasions prior to this. She qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2017 at Askham Bryan College in York, and has since worked at various places in the UK and Abroad with a range of domestic and wild animals. Ruth has a particular interest in anaesthetics, lab work and surgical nursing. Ruth hopes to one day soon finally get her own dog, however she has grown up with cats all her life and currently has a 16 year old family cat called Casper. Casper was the reason she decided to pursue a career in veterinary nursing after she helped him recover from a road traffic accident when he was 2 years old. Previous to studying nursing Ruth got a degree in Wildlife Conservation and therefore is keen to try and help any injured wildlife that comes into the practice.
